The tour starts from Baghdad and ends on the eighth day in Erbil

 

Day 1 - Baghdad

📍Iraqi Museum: Houses the world’s richest collection of Mesopotamian artifacts.

📍Al-Mustansiriya School: A 13th-century Abbasid university.

📍Old Baghdad: Traditional quarters and markets reflecting the city’s heritage.

📍Old Baghdad Gate: A historical gate that once served as one of the main entrances to ancient Baghdad, reflecting the city’s rich Islamic architecture and cultural heritage

 

Day 2 – Babylon

📍Ancient Babylon: Capital of Nebuchadnezzar II and site of the Hanging Gardens.

📍Borsippa: Famous for its ziggurat, linked to the Tower of Babel legend.

📍 Kish: One of the earliest Sumerian cities, seat of the first kings.

 

Day 3 – Nasiriyah

📍Uruk: The birthplace of writing and the first true city in history.

📍Ur: Home of Prophet Abraham and the Great Ziggurat of Ur.   

📍 Nippur: The religious center of ancient Sumer, dedicated to the chief god Enlil.

 

Day 4 – Baghdad

📍Aqar Quf Ziggurat : A 3,000-year-old Mesopotamian stepped temple.

📍Tomb of Bibi Zubayda Khatun:  14th-century mausoleum of a Jalairid queen.

📍Taq Kasra : The largest surviving Sassanian arch in the world.

 

Day 5 – Samarra & Mosul

📍Great Mosque of Samarra Spiral Minaret: Iconic 9th-century spiral minaret.

📍Abu Dulaf Minaret: A smaller spiral minaret resembling Samarra’s.

📍Caliphs’ Palace (Samarra): Remains of Abbasid palaces.

📍Ashur (Qal'at Sherqat): The first capital of the Assyrian Empire, an ancient city on the Tigris River, famous for its temples, palaces, and role as a religious and political center

📍Hatra: A fortified Parthian city, UNESCO World Heritage site.

 

Day 6 – Mosul

📍Old Mosul: Historic quarters and bazaars along the Tigris River.

📍Nineveh (Kuyunjik Mound): Ancient Assyrian capital with Ashurbanipal’s library.

📍 Nimrud: Major Assyrian city with colossal winged statues.

 

Day 7 – Duhok

📍Lalish Temple: The holiest sanctuary of the Yazidis and their pilgrimage site.

📍Dur-Sharrukin (Khorsabad): Assyrian capital built by King Sargon II.
